Job Description

We are currently looking for licensed BMET's and CMET's for a short term project located in the Northern California Bay Area.  If candidate is a good fit, company will pay for airfare, boarding, and Per Diem.  We have a need for mid to high level technicians who are comfortable working on a large array of biomedical equipment.  If you have the skills in the description below and interested, please contact us immediately. 

Job Duties:

 

Biomedical Equipment Technicians are required to plan, train others, install, maintains and repairs intricate medical equipment and systems utilized in the diagnosis, treatment and monitoring of patients.  These technicians will be assigned to a specific site and or service area.  Technicians will support the general class of large volume mobile medical equipment at their assigned facility.

Perform all phases of scheduled or corrective repairs of biomedical equipment and medical systems.  Required to perform scheduled inspections and performs electrical safety tests of biomedical equipment.  Responsible for a high level of documenting of inspections, maintenance and testing of equipment. 

Must be comfortable working with other BMET's specialties (Instrumentation, X-ray, CT/MR, Diagnostic Ultrasound, Nuclear Med, Clinical laboratory, RT/Anesthesia, Ophthalmology/Lasers, and Clinical Systems Integrations, and Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) representatives.

Documentation of work performed must be thorough. 

After hours work may be required on a scheduled or non-scheduled basis to complete required work. Potential need for on-call weekend schedule to perform emergency service.

 

Qualifications: 

Must have general instrumentation experience - 4 years of  BMET experience is required.

Familiar with computer equipment, Picture Archiving Communication Systems (PACS) or Computed Radiology in a networked hospital environment.

Familiar with OEM, OJT, General Electric Healthcare (GEHC), Philips and Siems CT and MRI Systems.

Experience with surgical laser equipment

Experience with Anesthesia and Respiratory Care equipment.

Ability to perform diagnostic ultrasound maintenance. 

Ability to perform X-Ray maintenance.

 

Education:

Minimum: Associates degree or equivalent in electronics, physics or related science degree required.

Preferred: Bachelors degree in engineering or related science degree preferred.

 

Schedule: 

Monday - Friday with weekend availability required. Morning and swing shift. (8 -12 hour shifts)

 

Salary:

$80.00 per hour, paid airfare, paid boarding, daily Per Diem.
