Job Description

 

We are looking to immediately hire groundskeepers in the Palo Alto area. We are looking for applicants with at least 1-2 years of landscaping experience. This is a full-time, 40 hours per week position that is temp to hire. 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Mow, fertilize, and water lawns, shrubbery, ground cover, trimming trees, flowering plants, and trees
  • Prepare beds for planting
  • Remove leaves and rubbish from grounds
  • Spray herbicides as trained and directed
  • Weed small areas
  • May operate walking power mowers or other non-mobile power equipment
  • Adhere to safety rules

Job Requirements

 

  • Demonstrated strong communications skills (both verbal and written).
  • Ability to understand and follow job-related instructions given in English, either verbally or in writing. 
  • Basic computer skills(e-mail/Calendaring) and use of smart phones.
  • Valid California Non-commercial Class C license.
  • Basic horticultural knowledge.

Drug, Driving, Background Requirements:

  • Clean Drug Test (No THC)
  • Clean Criminal Record
  • 2 points or less on driving record

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods walking, standing, bending, stretching, pushing, pulling, climbing ladders, or kneeling.
  • Must be physically able to operate power equipment.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
  • Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions.
