Job Description

Job Title: CAD Drafter
 
Job Responsibilities:
• Create detailed 2D and 3D drawings using CAD software, primarily AutoCAD and SolidWorks
• Interpret and translate engineering sketches, specifications, and calculations into precise technical drawings
• Modify and revise existing drawings based on engineer feedback and design changes
• Ensure all drawings comply with industry standards, codes, and regulations
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, and other team members to understand project requirements
• Maintain organized digital files of drawings, designs, and related documents
• Participate in project meetings to discuss design concepts and provide input on drafting-related issues
• Assist in creating presentations and technical documentation for clients and stakeholders
• Stay updated on the latest CAD software and industry trends
• Perform quality checks on drawings to maintain accuracy and consistency
• Support the creation of bill of materials (BOM) and parts lists
• Contribute to the development of drafting standards and best practices within the organization

Job Requirements

Skills Required:
• Proficiency in CAD software, particularly AutoCAD and SolidWorks
• Strong understanding of drafting principles, techniques, and standards
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce accurate technical drawings
• Good spatial visualization skills and ability to interpret 2D and 3D designs
• Familiarity with engineering and architectural terminology
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Knowledge of industry-specific codes and standards (e.g., ANSI, ISO, AIA)
• Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and construction methods
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel for creating reports and data entry
• Associate's degree in drafting, engineering technology, or related field (Bachelor's degree preferred)
• 2+ years of experience in CAD drafting, preferably in a relevant industry
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and software
• Strong teamwork skills and ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams
