Job Description

We have an immediate opening for CNC Lathe machinist who can set up and operate the CNC Lathe and also program the lathe using G & M codes or by utilizing Mastercam.  

 

Job Responsibilities:
• Operate CNC lathes to produce precision parts and components according to specifications
• Program CNC machines using CAD/CAM software and G-code
• Set up and adjust tools, fixtures, and materials for machining operations
• Monitor machining processes and make necessary adjustments to ensure quality and efficiency
• Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work orders to determine machining requirements
• Perform routine maintenance on CNC lathes and related equipment
• Conduct quality control checks and measurements using precision instruments
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with machining processes or equipment
• Optimize manufacturing processes to improve productivity and reduce waste
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to develop and implement new machining strategies
• Train and mentor junior machinists and operators as needed
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety protocols
• Document production data, machine settings, and quality control results
• Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in CNC technology
 
Skills Required:
• Proven experience as a CNC lathe machinist and programmer, minimum 3-5 years
• Proficiency in programming CNC machines using G-code and CAD/CAM software
• Strong understanding of machining principles, metal properties, and cutting tool technology
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments and gauges
• Knowledge of quality control procedures and ISO standards
• Familiarity with various materials used in machining (e.g., steel, aluminum, plastics)
• Strong mathematical skills and ability to perform complex calculations
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including possible overtime or shifts
• Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or relevant certifications preferred
