Job Title: CNC Programmer (SolidWorks & Mastercam)
Location: Livermore, CA
Pay Range: $40 – $55 per hour (DOE)
Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled CNC Programmer with strong experience in SolidWorks and Mastercam to support the programming and production of precision components for CNC mills and lathes. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, highly proficient in CAD/CAM software, and capable of working closely with machinists and engineers to ensure high-quality, efficient manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, modify, and optimize CNC programs using Mastercam for multi-axis CNC mills and CNC lathes
- Interpret engineering drawings, models, and GD&T requirements
- Create 3D models and manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks
- Select appropriate tooling, fixtures, and machining strategies to maximize efficiency and quality
- Collaborate with machinists to troubleshoot and improve machining processes
- Perform program prove-outs and make necessary adjustments on the shop floor
- Ensure all programs meet quality standards, tolerances, and production timelines
- Maintain organized documentation of programs, setups, and revisions
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to cycle time, tooling, and process optimization
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of CNC programming experience for mills and lathes
- Proficiency in Mastercam (required)
- Strong experience with SolidWorks for modeling and design
- Solid understanding of machining processes, tooling, and materials
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and GD&T
- Experience with multi-axis machining preferred
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with complex or tight-tolerance components
- Knowledge of fixture design and process optimization
- Familiarity with shop floor setup and operation
Work Environment:
- Manufacturing/shop environment with exposure to machinery, noise, and metalworking processes
- Collaborative team setting with engineers, machinists, and production staff
Compensation & Benefits:
