We currently have an opening for a CNC Setup machinist to set up and operate a Twin Spindle CNC Lathe with Live Tooling. We are seeking candidates with at least 3 to 5 years of experience setting up similar equipment. This position is a morning shift Monday - Thursday 10 hours per day.
• Set up, operate, and maintain CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines, including mills, lathes, and grinders
• Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and engineering specifications
• Select appropriate tooling, fixtures, and work-holding devices for each job
• Perform first article inspections and in-process quality checks to ensure parts meet specifications
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with CNC machines, tooling, or programs
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety protocols
• Maintain accurate records of machine maintenance, setups, and production data
• Perform preventive maintenance on CNC machines and associated equipment
• Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and quality standards
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and lean manufacturing practices
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a CNC Setup Machinist
• Proficiency in setting up and operating CNC Two Spindle lathes with Live Tooling
• Strong knowledge of G-code and M-code programming
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and GD&T
• Familiarity with various materials, including metals, plastics, and composites
• Proficient in using precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers, CMM)
• Good mathematical and analytical skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
