Maintenance Mechanic for Industrial Environment

We have an immediate opening for a maintenance mechanic in a manufacturing firm.  We are seeking a candidate that is comfortable doing maintenance and repairs on a variety of mechanical and electrical systems.

What You’ll Do:

• Repair and maintenance of electrical and mechanical industrial equipment. Determine when and what kind of maintenance is needed.

• Perform regular preventative maintenance schedules and train production staff on “quick fixes”
• Recognize both importance of

• Train in all production practices to proficiency
• Respond and follow up to a problem in a timely and effective manner.
• Identify problems and review relevant information to develop options, then implements the solutions.
• Troubleshoot and maintain motor control centers and motor start circuits, control loops, high voltage (480V. 3 Phase) switchgear, protective relays, and related equipment.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Utilizes hand tool, power tools, equipment manuals, electrical diagrams and mechanical prints to maintain equipment and machinery.
• Reads and understands blueprints, schematics, and/or measuring devices.
• Clear and effective communication skills in both written and spoken forms.
• Knowledge of computer applications including email, databases, word-processing program and spreadsheets (such as Microsoft Office).
• Works effectively with different levels of management and team members.
• Strong attention to detail and time management with ability to balance multiple projects in an effective manner
• Reliable transportation and ability to travel between businesses as work is needed.
• Forklift and pallet-jack
• Critical team player, willing to jump in and learn production as well as train operators on skillset 

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to:

• Stand for extend periods of time.
• Walk, kneel, bend, crouch, crawl, and climb over equipment within the production area as well as loading zones.
• Converse in a range of environments from loud production areas to office space.

The employee must be able to:

• Use hands and fingers to operate, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms.
• Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, using proper bending and lifting. Lift 25 pounds overhead safely.
• Other required abilities include reading, calculation, measuring, planning, interpreting, explaining, and compiling data.
