Job Responsibilities:
 
• Lead and manage New Product Introduction (NPI) projects for machine shop operations
• Work with customers to improved part design for better manufacturability
• Analyze and optimize existing production methods to improve efficiency and quality
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure successful implementation of new products
• Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to source materials and equipment for new projects
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during the NPI process
• Provide technical support and training to machine shop personnel on new processes and equipment
• Collaborate with design teams to provide manufacturing input during product development stages
• Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including customers and internal departments
• Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies relevant to machine shop operations
• Champion innovation and creativity in problem-solving approaches
 
 
Skills Required:
 
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field
• 5+ years of experience in NPI or manufacturing engineering roles within a machine shop environment
• Strong knowledge of machining processes, including CNC programming, tooling, and fixturing utilizing Mastercam
• Proficiency in Solidworks software and 3D modeling tools
• Excellent project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work with diverse teams
• Knowledge of materials science and metallurgy as applied to machining processes
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and ERP systems
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Adaptability and willingness to learn new technologies and processes
 
 
• Strong critical thinking and decision-making abilities
• Excellent time management and organizational skills
